A MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is a free online course accessible for everyone, but this goes beyond conventional online training. MOOC is as structured as lectures or seminars at universities. There is a start and an end date and includes individual course modules, which together with its contents (video lectures, theory-scripts, homework / tests) will be released every week for the learner. The advantage is that the participants can decide when they want to edit the provided material.
An important part of MOOCs is networking among the participants through social media channels. The participants may at any time discuss the contents and provide further learning content.
